Tyler
Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) announced today that Multnomah
County, Oregon, has successfully gone live with the core functions of
Tyler's Orion™ appraisal and tax administration software
solution. In the coming months, the county and Tyler will continue to
expand on the capabilities in the software, including the implementation
of Orion Field Mobile™.
With a population of more than 800,000, Multnomah County is the state's
largest county, and home to Portland. Multnomah County selected Tyler
because it required an experienced team to manage appraisal of its
340,000 parcels, and because of Tyler's reputation as an industry leader
in computer-assisted mass appraisal (CAMA) technology. In addition, the
county has a history of successful Tyler projects dating back many
years, demonstrating Tyler's experience with the county's technology
environment, as well as its familiarity with Oregon's unique property
statutes.
"As a high-growth area drawing new residents and businesses from around
the country, Multnomah County requires a solution that can not only
handle our current needs, but also carry us into the future," said Mike
Vaughn, division director and assessor of the Multnomah County Division
of Assessment Recording & Taxation. "Over the years, Tyler has shown an
ongoing commitment to meeting the unique needs of Multnomah County to
ensure the value of our long-term investment and positioning us for
ongoing success."
Using its newly installed appraisal and tax software solution, Multnomah
County can now streamline repetitive tasks, maximize efficiencies, and
organize complex data into useful, actionable information. Benefits to
the county include increased productivity, enhanced workflow, superior
customer service, improved quality, and reduced costs. In addition,
Tyler continually updates the Orion software to ensure that the county
is complying with current legislation and regulations. Multnomah County
residents will benefit from more accurate property values that uphold
fair and equitable taxation.
"Multnomah County's technology and regulatory landscape required
thorough and specific solutions, and we are proud of the innovation that
grew from our collaboration with the county's team, from initial
agreement through implementation," said Mark Hawkins, senior vice
president of software operations in Tyler's Appraisal & Tax Division.
"Multnomah County's CAMA and tax project with Tyler lays the groundwork
for other Oregon counties to modernize their appraisal and tax solutions
simply and efficiently."
Multnomah County is one of 36 counties in Oregon, and its county seat,
Portland, is the state's largest city. Tyler also provides its Odyssey®
case management solution to Multnomah County as part of a statewide
implementation.
