Tyler Technologies Unit Awarded $1.4 Million in Contracts With Two Pennsylvania Counties |
DALLAS, May 21 -- Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) announced today that its Eagle Computer Systems (ECS) unit has entered into contracts to provide its CRIS+plus integrated recording system, along with related professional services and hardware, to Lehigh County and Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The contracts have a combined value of approximately $1.4 million.
CRIS+plus is Tyler Technologies' flagship Windows-based recording system for official government records, including land records, Uniform Commercial Code filings, marriages and vital statistics. The CRIS+plus system includes integrated digital imaging, receipting and workflow applications. In addition, an iCRIS server will provide Internet-based remote access to data and images in the two counties' systems.
Lancaster County is in the heart of the Pennsylvania Dutch Country and has a population of over 470,000. Lancaster County will implement the CRIS+plus system under a six-year agreement with ECS. The system will initially be deployed on an NT and Windows 95/98 network, and after three years ECS will provide a full-scale replacement of the network hardware and software with then-current technology. ECS will convert 19 years of historical index from an existing system and upload the data for access from CRIS+plus. The County's future plans include the conversion of approximately 3.5 million pages from microfilm to digital images for easy access from CRIS+plus.
Lehigh County, which includes the cities of Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton, has a population of over 312,000. Lehigh County will deploy CRIS+plus on an NT and Windows 95/98-based network to record and scan approximately 260 documents per day. ECS will also convert 17 years of historical index data from an in-house system and upload the data for access from CRIS+plus.
"We are extremely pleased that Lehigh and Lancaster Counties have joined Beaver County and the City of Philadelphia as our third and fourth CRIS+plus customers in Pennsylvania," said Allen Stewart, President of Tyler's ECS division. "With the addition of these two counties, approximately 15% of the state's recording volume will be managed with our CRIS+plus system."
Steve McDonald, Recorder of Deeds for Lancaster County said, "After evaluating a number of competitors, the CRIS+plus system from Tyler Technologies / ECS was the clear choice for Lancaster County. Installing CRIS+plus will enable us to manage our official records more efficiently, resulting in cost savings for our taxpayers. We're also excited to be able to offer Internet access to our data and document images through iCRIS."
Marie Dean, the Lehigh County Recorder, concurred. "We carefully considered all competing proposals," commented Ms. Dean. "Lehigh County is excited to offer our constituents the enhanced services that CRIS+plus will provide."
