Tyler Technologies Awarded $5.3 Million Contract With Illinois Secretary of State
DALLAS, May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Dallas-based Tyler Technologies (NYSE: TYL) announced today that it has been awarded a $5.3 million contract with the Business Services Department of the Illinois Secretary of State's office. Under the five-year contract, Tyler will install and manage a new digital imaging system and perform related services, including technology updates, back records conversion, digital microfilm production and process workflow implementation, for all divisions of the Business Services Department.

The new system will be the cornerstone of the Secretary of State's e-commerce initiative. When the initiative is completed, the public will have Internet access through the new Tyler system to Illinois corporation and limited liability company information and to UCC filings. In addition, the system will enable online filings of Illinois UCC documents via the Internet.

"We're extremely pleased that the Illinois Secretary of State's office has chosen Tyler Technologies to provide it with state-of-the-art e-government solutions for its information management needs," said John M. Yeaman, Tyler's president. "Our experience in successfully implementing cost-effective large- scale imaging systems for government entities was a key factor in our selection. We look forward to bringing e-commerce to the Secretary of State's office, giving the public the ability to access data and file documents online."

Under the turnkey contract, Tyler Technologies has full responsibility for the design, development, management, hardware, software, implementation and support associated with the improved document management and imaging technology solution. The solution provides for implementation of full workflow capability and will include a redesign of current document workflow processes to improve document turnaround times and to optimize the use of personnel resources. The installed system will provide the Business Services Department of the Secretary of State's office with a high performance, flexible and expandable platform that will support its document management, imaging and storage requirements well into the 21st century.
