Tyler Technologies Installs E-Government Internet Portal in Austin County, Texas |
DALLAS, May 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Dallas-based Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) today announced that it has successfully completed the installation of its prototype e-government portal for Internet access to property appraisal information in Austin County, Texas. This web browser- based solution provides real-time access to county appraisal records, including information such as ownership, property address and location, taxing jurisdictions, appraisal characteristics (roof type, foundation type, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, year built, square footage, property classification), electronic sketches of improvements, electronic photograph of the property and mapping information.
"Tyler Technologies has been Austin County Appraisal District's technology partner for over fifteen years and has provided our information management solutions for property appraisal, assessment, tax billing and collections, and office automation. Over the years Tyler has continuously assisted us in migrating to newer and more efficient technologies," commented Glen Whitehead, Chief Appraiser of Austin County. "We're very pleased to be able to provide taxpayers with easy access to the District's records via the Internet. We see great benefits to the Internet portal, including significantly reducing the volume of walk-in traffic in our office from those researching our public records. Fee appraisers, realtors and land surveyors are all realizing the benefits of accessing our data via the Internet."
In addition to providing access to public information, Austin County intends to utilize the e-commerce portion of Tyler's portal to accept on-line payments of both current and delinquent taxes later this year.
"Providing Austin County with web browser-based access to public information and databases is an example of how Tyler continuously enhances the installed technology of our clients. Installation of this prototype system represents another step in our previously announced growth strategy to bring e-government solutions to the public," commented John M. Yeaman, Tyler's president.
