Tyler Technologies' Cole Layer Trumble Unit Awarded Contracts With Greene County, Ohio - Reappraisal and Software Contracts Valued at $1.6 Million |
DALLAS, Jan. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Dallas-based Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) announced today that Greene County, Ohio, has entered into new contracts with Cole Layer Trumble Company (CLT), a Tyler Technologies subsidiary, to conduct the County's 2002 reappraisal of all real property located within the County. In addition, contracts were awarded for CLT to provide appraisals for new construction occurring in the 2000, 2001, and 2002 tax years as well as an annual ongoing support contract for CLT's Integrated Assessment System (IAS) software that is installed in the County. The total value of these contracts is approximately $1.6 million.
''These contracts ensure a continuous 40-year working relationship between Greene County and CLT,'' said Charles W. Carter, CLT's national sales director. ''We are proud that Greene County has again chosen CLT to provide quality reappraisal services, as well as up to date technology solutions for its tax administration function.''
In Ohio, the County Auditor is responsible for maintaining equitable assessments of all real and personal property for use by the county, cities, townships, school districts and other taxing authorities that levy a property tax. Ohio law requires that every property be reappraised every six years.
''Greene County has been working with CLT since my original hire date as a deputy auditor in May 1963, and CLT has conducted every state mandated reappraisal for Greene County since then,'' said Luwanna Delaney, the Greene County Auditor.
In 1990, Greene County was the first installation of IAS in the U.S. and served as a beta test site for Release 1.0 of the product. Since then, CLT has installed or is in the process of installing IAS in 22 states and one Canadian province, covering 65 assessing jurisdictions that provide assessing and/or tax collection services to several hundred taxing authorities. In 1999, Greene County was the test site for ensuring that IAS was Y2K compliant in a production environment.
IAS is a modular software system for the administration of the property tax, the only local funding source for such important government functions as education, fire and police protection, local highway maintenance and special districts that provide such things as water and waste disposal services. Greene County uses the modules for Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA), Assessment Administration, Tax Billing and Collection and Manufactured Homes.
IAS is an ''On Oracle'' software product that was developed and is maintained using the Oracle relational database engine and suite of development tools. IAS development began in 1989, and in 1999, CLT began shipping the fourth major release of the product.
CLT was founded in 1938 and is regarded as the oldest and largest provider of mass appraisal and related property tax software and services in the nation. CLT currently has active projects in more than 30 states and two Canadian provinces. Tyler Technologies acquired CLT in November 1999.
