Tyler Technologies Signs Contracts to Implement Odyssey Courts System in Three Texas Counties |
Additional Clients Participating Under Agreement with Texas Conference of Urban Counties
Dallas, September 5, 2006 -- Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) announced today that it has signed contracts with three Texas counties to implement Tyler's Odyssey court administration software. Odyssey is Tyler's new generation Web-based court management solution for the state and local government market. Under the new agreements, Tyler will implement Odyssey in Tarrant, Fort Bend and Williamson counties.
Each of the three counties is a member of the Texas Conference of Urban Counties (Urban Counties) and will adopt the Odyssey system under the $12.4 million software license agreement signed earlier this year between Tyler and the Urban Counties. Tarrant, Fort Bend and Williamson counties have separately contracted with Tyler for implementation and other professional services. The total value of the new agreements is approximately $4 million. Tarrant County is the third-most populous county in Texas and the 20th largest county in the nation. With a population of more than 1.4 million, it includes the city of Fort Worth, as well as many suburban communities in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Fort Bend County, located near Houston in southeast Texas, is one of the fastest-growing counties in the United States. Fort Bend County, which includes the cities of Sugar Land, Richmond and Missouri City, expects its current population of nearly 500,000 to more than triple by the year 2040. Williamson County is located in central Texas just north of Austin and includes the cities of Round Rock and Georgetown. One of the fastest-growing counties in the state, Williamson County has a population of approximately 250,000 and is a center for high technology, agribusiness and education.
"We are pleased that three more counties have joined us as Odyssey clients under the Urban Counties agreement," commented Dusty Womble, Executive Vice President of Tyler Technologies. "Tarrant County, one of the country's top twenty counties, and Fort Bend County are new Tyler clients for the courts and justice applications. Williamson County has used our legacy courts and justice system for 20 years. Implementing the new Odyssey technology will allow each of these counties to operate its courts more efficiently while providing enhanced service to its citizens."
