Dallas, October 4, 2006 -- Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) announced today that Victoria County, Texas, has signed a contract to implement Tyler's Odyssey integrated courts and justice system for use in several offices in the County. The value of the contract, including software licenses and professional services, is approximately $1.25 million.
Victoria County will be implementing the full suite of Odyssey applications, including Odyssey Courts in both the District and County Clerk's offices; Odyssey JP in four Justice of the Peace Courts; Odyssey Prosecutor; Odyssey Jail; and Odyssey Law Enforcement. The County previously used several separate software products for these applications, and wanted to update and standardize these systems on a more modern and user-friendly platform. In particular, the sheriff sought an application that was more intuitive for his staff to learn and use. All of these county offices also desired robust imaging capabilities to make documents readily available within the context of the software's use.
"Our goal in moving to the Odyssey system is to create work efficiencies within the County by utilizing modern technologies and to create an environment in which data can be used to its fullest potential through complete integration," stated County Judge Donald R. Pozzi.
Victoria County is located in southeastern Texas on the Coastal Plain about midway between the southern and eastern extremities of the Texas Gulf Coast. Victoria, the county's largest city, is the county seat. With a population of approximately 85,000, the County ranks as the 41st largest among the state's 254 counties.
"We are pleased that Victoria County has joined a family of Odyssey clients that continues to grow both in Texas and across the nation," commented Dustin Womble, Executive Vice President of Tyler Technologies. "In addition to the contract to provide our Odyssey Courts and Prosecutor applications to the largest Texas counties that are members of the Texas Conference of Urban Counties, we continue to expand Odyssey's presence in Texas through contracts with other new Odyssey clients like Victoria County.
"Tyler's Odyssey system will enable Victoria County to integrate disparate systems with a common database, eliminating duplicate data entry," added Mr. Womble. "Victoria County will also use the implementation of Odyssey to streamline business processes, and we look forward to providing our expertise to the County in order to accomplish its goals."
