Dallas, December 4, 2006 -- Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) announced today that it has signed a contract to implement its Odyssey court case management system in Denton County, Texas. Odyssey is Tyler's new generation Web-based court management solution for the state and local government market.
Denton County is a member of the Texas Conference of Urban Counties (Urban Counties) and will adopt the Odyssey system under the $12.4 million software license agreement signed earlier this year between Tyler and the Urban Counties. Denton County has separately contracted with Tyler for implementation and other professional services in this new agreement, which is valued at approximately $2.2 million.
Denton County is located in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and is among the 30 fastest-growing counties in the United States. Its population of more than 550,000 makes Denton County the ninth-largest county in Texas. The County includes the cities of Denton and Lewisville, and is home to the University of North Texas and Texas Woman's University.
"I am thrilled that Denton County will be updating the criminal justice computer system to Tyler Technologies' Odyssey program," noted Cynthia Mitchell, Denton County Clerk. "The increased functionality and innovations are unmatched. Denton County's courts will operate more efficiently and better serve the citizens of Denton County."
Denton County Commissioner Sandy Jacobs said, "Implementing the Odyssey system in Denton County's courts is a major step forward in technology that will grow with the County. Odyssey has an intuitive user interface, scalability and built-in redundancy, making it more efficient for internal and external users and providing improved access for the public. With a positive working relationship with Tyler Technologies of more than 15 years, we have confidence that the Odyssey implementation will be successful."
"It is a pleasure to add Denton County to the list of leading state and county governments across the nation that have chosen Tyler's Odyssey courts system," commented Dusty Womble, Executive Vice President of Tyler Technologies. "The combination of our industry-leading technology and Tyler's unmatched domain expertise in the courts and justice market is very compelling. We look forward to expanding our long relationship with Denton County through this agreement."
