Dallas, February 13, 2007 -- Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) announced today that it has reached a five-year accord with the Village of Schaumburg, Illinois, to deliver its MUNIS software solution via Tyler's Application Service Provider (ASP) model. The total arrangement, which is valued at more than $2.2 million, includes a comprehensive suite of MUNIS financial and revenue products, as well as a human resource management solution. Additionally, Schaumburg will use a variety of integrated technology products, including MUNIS Office, Crystal Reports, MapLink, Employee and Utility Billing Self Service, Tyler Forms Processing and GoDocs, and Tyler Content Manager for MUNIS.
Through the MUNIS ASP solution, a Software as a Service (SaaS) model, Schaumburg's MUNIS software applications and data will be hosted and managed from Tyler's Falmouth, Maine, facility. Tyler will provide ongoing support, maintenance and upgrades of software applications, hardware and operating systems as part of the agreement. This offsite hosting service will free Schaumburg's information technology resources to focus on other strategic initiatives, rather than managing server issues.
Sam Ferguson, Schaumburg's information technology director, stated, "We believe that the MUNIS ASP solution will work well for us. It will provide us with a high level of redundancy, simplified administration, and discipline-specific help to Village of Schaumburg departments." He explained that the Village's previous success using a SaaS model for other systems factored into its decision to purchase MUNIS ASP services.
Schaumburg hopes to increase its efficiency across the board by replacing its legacy system with Tyler's MUNIS Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution. As a result, Mr. Ferguson expects the enhanced workflow to foster interdepartmental cooperation and to facilitate improved service to the Village's constituents. "The integrated nature of the MUNIS applications and its ties to geographic information systems will greatly enable cross-departmental partnering and solutions," he said.
With its purchase of MUNIS Permits & Code Enforcement and MUNIS Business Licenses, the Village will fulfill its need for community development-related software. In addition to their integration with other MUNIS applications, these modules will interface with Infokall, the Village's field-reporting solution. Through the interface, hand-held devices used during field inspections will share data with MUNIS, resulting in a more efficient process.
In addition to MUNIS accounting software and services, Schaumburg also will utilize SAS Business Intelligence for its MUNIS financial, revenue and human resource applications. Through implementation of this advanced data analysis tool from SAS, a Tyler business partner, the Village will gain valuable insight into its operations and will be able to apply this knowledge to improve service to its citizens.
Richard Peterson, Jr., President of Tyler's MUNIS division, commented, "Tyler's five-year agreement with the Village of Schaumburg is a reflection of the superior reputation we have established across the United States. Tyler is recognized as an industry leader in the delivery of software and services that respond to the ERP requirements of the public sector. We're confident that Schaumburg's implementation of the MUNIS solution and ASP services will have a positive effect on the Village."
Located in Cook County, the Village of Schaumburg is home to approximately 75,000 residents. Rich in German heritage, the Village is named for the Schaumburg-Lippe region of Germany, where many of the Village's original settlers once lived. Incorporated in 1956, this suburban Chicago community is a hub of retail industry, second in the state of Illinois only to Chicago. Schaumburg is also well known for its open spaces and dedication to the arts.
