Dallas, September 8, 2008 -- Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) announced today that it has reached an agreement with the Northside Independent School District (ISD) in San Antonio, Texas, to provide Tyler's financial management solution. The contract, which is valued at approximately $4.9 million and is primarily funded through a 2004 bond initiative, includes software licenses, as well as related professional services, ongoing maintenance and support.
Northside ISD, the fourth largest school district in Texas and 40th largest in the U.S, joins a growing list of Texas school districts that have invested in Tyler's MUNIS Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution. Northside has selected a variety of applications from the MUNIS financial, human resource and revenue product suites. The District will also deploy several integrated solutions to facilitate document management and reporting, including Tyler Content Manager, MUNIS Business Objects, Tyler Forms Processing, Tyler GoDocs, GASB 34 Report Writer and MUNIS Office. Additionally, Northside has purchased Web-enabled MUNIS Employee and Business Self Service to allow for online transactions. The implementation is scheduled to commence in September 2008.
Richard Peterson, Jr., president of Tyler's MUNIS Financial Management Solutions, believes the Northside ISD will experience a significant improvement in its daily operations by implementing the Tyler system. "Tyler's financial management solution offers the features and functionality necessary for school districts to operate with the utmost efficiency. Tyler's public sector experience, combined with the fully integrated and scalable system design, will provide the Northside ISD with a solution well suited to their current and future needs. We're pleased to have formed this collaborative alliance with the District and look forward to serving them for years to come," he stated.
Northside ISD's Project Manager, Rick Gardner, said the District is eager to implement Tyler's financial management solution. "Northside ISD is excited to move forward with the implementation of Tyler's ERP solution. There were numerous factors that led to our decision to invest in the Tyler system—among them Tyler Technologies' outstanding reputation for providing quality solutions and services to school systems across the United States, as well as its strong presence with school districts in Texas. These districts reaffirmed Tyler's reputation through the positive customer satisfaction reports they offered during our selection process. Northside also appreciates Tyler's technical support, as well as the Tyler software applications offered and the effect their implementation will have on the District's overall operating efficiency."
Gardner believes that Tyler's Content Manager, an enterprise-wide document management system, will transform operations. "Tyler's Content Manager application will reduce paperwork for Northside's campuses and department staff. In the end, the District is confident that our investment in Tyler's solution will result in improved business efficiencies which will enable us to focus more resources on our primary goal—educating students," he explained.
Northside ISD educates over 88,600 students from pre-Kindergarten through grade 12 at 96 schools. As one of the fastest growing districts in the state, Northside ISD opens three new schools annually in response to an enrollment rate that grows by 4,000 students each year. The District employs approximately 13,500 employees of which 6,000 are teachers. Northside ISD is located in the northwest quadrant of San Antonio—the second largest city in Texas and the seventh largest in the U.S. with a population of 1.3 million.
