THREE OHIO COUNTIES SELECT TYLER TECHNOLOGIES UNIT FOR ASSESSMENT SERVICES AND SOFTWARE |
New Contracts Valued at Nearly $1.8 Million
Dallas, Texas, April 1, 2003 —Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) announced today that its Cole Layer Trumble (CLT) unit has signed contracts totaling nearly $1.8 million to provide property appraisal services, software and software support to three Ohio counties. Under the new contracts, Pickaway, Gallia and Auglaize counties will each upgrade their appraisal software systems to CLT’s Integrated Assessment System (IAS) Version 4.0. CLT will also perform reappraisals of properties in each of the counties. Work under the three new contracts is expected to be completed in 2005.
IAS is comprised of several modules that provide local governments with the ability to maintain property descriptions, establish values, administer exemptions, calculate taxes, produce tax bills and collect property taxes. Upgrading to IAS 4.0 provides these counties with a graphical user interface, and positions them to take advantage of future technological advances, integrating Geographical Information System software and other graphics-based applications.
Gallia County Auditor Larry Betts is looking forward to using IAS Version 4.0. “The new system will be so much faster and easier,” commented Mr. Betts. “We’re excited about getting mobile homes and personal property on the system, and we’ll be able to move easily from one module to another.”
Pickaway County is located in central Ohio, just south of Columbus, and has a population of over 53,000. Auglaize County has a population of over 47,000 and is in northwest Ohio. Gallia County, with nearly 33,000 people, is located on the Ohio River approximately 80 miles southeast of Columbus. CLT previously provided reappraisal services to each of these three counties during the last revaluation cycle. “We are pleased that each of these clients has reaffirmed their relationship with us, and we look forward to continuing to provide them with updated technology and quality appraisal services,” commented Bruce Nagel, President of Tyler’s CLT division.
Tyler’s CLT division is the nation’s largest provider of mass appraisal and property tax software and reassessment outsourcing services. Since its founding in 1938, CLT has provided appraisal outsourcing services and property tax administration software to over 1,200 assessing jurisdictions in the United States and Canada. Now in its fourth major release, IAS has been selected by more than 70 jurisdictions in 24 states and one Canadian province. These jurisdictions include a total population of more than 18 million, with over ten million parcels and more than one million personal property accounts.
