MESQUITE ISD SELECTS MUNIS SOFTWARE FROM TYLER TECHNOLOGIES TO UPGRADE FINANCIAL APPLICATIONS |
Dallas, November 12, 2003 -- Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) announced today that it has signed a contract to provide its MUNIS Financial, Human Resource and Revenue software to the Mesquite Independent School District in Mesquite, Texas. The total estimated value of the contract, including software, services, and support, approaches $1,000,000.
Tyler’s MUNIS product is recognized as a leader in the enterprise application software market for the public sector, with over 1,000 installed client sites across the nation. Approximately half of those installations represent schools.
The Mesquite ISD serves more than 34,000 students across 43 campuses and has an annual operating budget of $196 million. Drawing students from the communities of Mesquite, Garland and Balch Springs, as well as parts of Dallas and Sunnyvale, it encompasses an area of approximately 60 square miles in east Dallas County. The district has been recognized by the Texas Education Agency for three consecutive years for its steady, marked improvement and continual quest for excellence.
When the district began its search for new financial software, one of its primary concerns was finding a provider that really understands the needs of a school district. Jack Herring, Director of Data Processing for the Mesquite ISD, commented, “Early on, we recognized that MUNIS would meet our needs. It was clear from the number of schools currently using MUNIS, and from the functionality that we saw in the product demonstrations, that they were a good fit. Our committee overwhelmingly approved of the functionality we saw in MUNIS.”
“All of Tyler’s resources are dedicated to serving local government, including business offices of schools,” noted John Marr, Jr., Chief Operating Officer of Tyler Technologies. “This serves both our clients and our company well, allowing us to forge long-term relationships based on an in-depth understanding of the operational needs of the public sector. Our selection by the Mesquite ISD, which evaluated our MUNIS software against competing products from one of the world’s largest enterprise application software companies, demonstrates that local governments recognize that Tyler works for them with superior functionality, domain expertise and client service.”
