Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) today reported that the New
Hampshire Judicial Branch has selected Tyler's Odyssey®
integrated courts and justice solution to supply its e-filing software
that will allow attorneys, parties to cases and members of the public to
electronically file and retrieve court documents as part of the NH
e-court initiative.
Established in 2011, the NH e-Court Project's goal is to automate
aspects of court case management to eliminate paper processes, decrease
case processing time, implement uniform workflow processes and increase
public accessibility. By eliminating the court's paper-bound filing
systems across the judiciary, the state will eventually make office
space available that had been reserved for storage of court files.
"The NH e-Court Project is the top administrative priority of the
judicial branch and our new contract with Tyler is a huge step toward a
paperless court system that will be more efficient, more economical and
more accessible to our citizens," said Chief Justice Linda Stewart
Dalianis.
Tyler was awarded the e-filing contract after a competitive bidding
process involving five software vendors and a review of proposals by a
seven-member committee. The New Hampshire Trial Court system has been
using Tyler's Odyssey court case management software since 2004.
Tyler's Odyssey File & Serve software supports electronic filing via a
secure Web portal, which streamlines the case filing process and
provides benefits to both the filer and the court, including processing
credit card transactions online and access to the system 24 hours a day,
seven days a week. The branch also selected Odyssey SessionWorks®
Judge edition to present data digitally to judges on the bench via
touch-screen technology.
"Through the state's competitive review process, Tyler was able to prove
that Odyssey will help improve business practices and provide increased
access to court information using the latest technology," said Bruce
Graham, president of Tyler's Courts & Justice Division. "Implementing
Odyssey File & Serve statewide in New Hampshire will create significant
value for the entire judicial branch and the public it serves. We're
proud to partner with New Hampshire on its e-court initiative."
New Hampshire has 78 courts and a population of approximately 1.3
million. Concord and Plymouth circuit courts are currently piloting the
first phase of the NH e-Court Project.
Odyssey File & Serve has been implemented by a growing number of justice
agencies nationwide, including counties in Illinois, Michigan, Nevada
and Pennsylvania; statewide File & Serve rollouts have already occurred
in New Mexico and North Dakota with implementations currently under way
in Minnesota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota and Texas.
