Tyler Technologies Unit Signs $2.9 Million Contract With Fayette County, PA |
DALLAS, Oct. 10 -- Dallas-based Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) announced today that its Cole Layer Trumble (CLT) unit has entered into a $2.9 million services and systems contract with Fayette County, Pennsylvania. Under the contract, CLT will reappraise all of Fayette County's 78,000 parcels of real property and will install its Integrated Assessment System (IAS) to administer Fayette County's property tax functions. CLT will also gather digital images of over 60,000 buildings and structures in Fayette County to assist in the valuation process. The term of the contract extends through June 2002.
IAS is comprised of several modules that will provide Fayette County with the ability to maintain property descriptions, establish values, administer exemptions, calculate taxes, produce tax bills and collect property taxes. When the project is complete, the new system will provide the public with Internet access to property tax information, including maps and digital images.
In recent years, Fayette County's existing assessment system was frequently found to have errors, and assessed property valuations have often not reflected fair market values. ``We needed an unbiased, independent team of experts to fix the problems and restore trust and accuracy in the process,'' said Vincent A. Vicites, Chairman of the Fayette County Commissioners. ``CLT has the reputation of being capable, honest and thorough.''
``CLT's initial bid was not the lowest of the three request-for-proposal responses the County received,'' continued Mr. Vicites. ``However, CLT management was very responsive during negotiations and offered the most comprehensive combination of experienced staff, state-of-the-art computer products and high-quality services for the money. Prior client references confirmed our determination that CLT has the expertise and depth of resources necessary to successfully complete Fayette's project.''
``CLT has a long history of providing appraisal and related property tax software and services to Pennsylvania counties,'' commented Bruce Nagel, President of CLT. ``We have reappraised more Pennsylvania counties, involving more parcels of real property, than any other company and we are pleased that Fayette County chose CLT for such an important project.''
